Facebook Messenger will soon no longer work on Windows Phone

Facebook will end it’s support for its Messenger App on Windows Phone 8.1 or lesser, by the end of March. According to reports, Facebook started sending out notification emails to those using the affected devices.

The notification reads,

“Thank you for choosing to use Messenger. We regret to inform you that since the end of March, the app version you’re using is no longer supported and you can not send and receive messages. To continue to send and receive messages from Facebook on your phone, update your Facebook app to the latest version.”

It is not just Windows phone users; Android and iOS phones with an older version of messenger app will not be able to use this app in near future. These older versions will become obsolete and no more usable. If you’re a user of the Messenger app, then be sure to upgrade to the latest OS and also keep the app up-to-date.
