In May 2016 Cheryl Kitonga escaped death by a whisker, moments after she was called for a cab to take her home, the car she was in was spread with bullets: the owner of the car was the late Jacob Juma.

On the 21st of August 2017, 21 year old Carol Ngumba was found dead alongside IEBC IT Manager Chris Msando.

25 year old Mercy Keino a student from University of Nairobi, was found dead along Waiyaki way after attending a party hosted by then Juja MP William Kabogo.

26 year old Sharon Otieno from Rongo University was kidnapped alongside journalist Barack Oduor moments after being lured out of a hotel in Rongo by governor Okoth Obado’s personal assistant Michael Oyamo.

Ivy Wangeci a 6th year medical student at Moi University in Eldoret was hacked to death on the 9th of April 2019 by her childhood friend Naftali Njahi Kinuthia who says that the reason for him killing her is because Ivy broke his heart.

What do most of these girls have in common? They were all alleged to be in relationships with older men (sponsors): with the promise of money, opportunities, and jobs at least according to their families.

So now the society is using “bad morals” as an excuse for murder?

Just recently there was the story of 20 year old student from Pwani University-Naomi Chepkemoi who was stabbed several times by her estranged lover for rejecting him and the KSH 3,200 he was giving as peace offering, she survived the attack and is recuperating in hospital.

The very same day in Nyeri county Mary Wangui was attacked by her ex-husband who was hunting her for some time, Mary had stepped outside her house at night for a short while when her ex – husband attacked her and stabbed her in the back 25 times; she died!
