TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR STAY AT HOME.

It would be fair to say that it hasn’t been easy adjusting to all the changes called for by the government since it announced the first case of COVID-19 in Kenya. Everything went from 0 to 100 real quick, from schools closing to some companies and businesses having their staff working from home and people avoiding physical contact with others among other measures. Lakini sisi ni nani? We’ve been taking each day as it comes while trying to keep ourselves and those around us safe.

As we are working towards having an amazing week, here are a few ways in which you can fully utilize your stay at home period now that everyone is around;

1. Stay at Home.
There are some people who have taken this opportunity to visit and catch up with their friends and relatives. Guys, this is not a staycation but rather a move called for by the government so that everyone can be able to effectively social distance themselves from others so as to reduce the rate at which the COVID -19 infection spreads. Watu wakae kwa nyumba! Keep your crew and family safe by checking up on them regularly via calls it’s only for a while.

2. Create a working schedule.
Kusema ukweli, the past week has been tough due to changes in our daily routine. A schedule will help in time management around the house and minimize fights over the remote or who is supposed to do what at a certain time.
For the youths, this schedule will help you manage all your responsibilities and programs without forgetting school work.
It will also help those who are working from home and will give your kids time to catch up with some revision. We know struggle imekuwa real but we can do it.

3. Learn something new/Pick up from where you left.
Spend the free time you have to learn something new, it can be a skill or an online course. This is where you tube tutorials and the internet in general comes in handy.

You can also use this time to catch up on things you’ve been postponing due to your busy schedule .Write that song ,draw that painting, try out that new recipe, finish that course and fix anything that needs fixing.

4.Have fun indoor activities.
Another good use of time is bonding with your family. You can start having fun indoor activities such as games i.e. board games, football (as long as you don’t break anything), riddles, storytelling, hide and seek, talent shows etc. every evening or over the weekend. Try and enjoy each other’s company.

5. Unplug.
Unplugging in lay man terms refers to relaxing after being deprived of relaxation.
Choose how far you are willing to unplug and stick to it. You can unplug by exercising at home,watching movies, reading a book, focusing on your spiritual growth or even taking more naps. It all depends on you.

There are many other ways you can fully maximize your stay at home.Leave a comment and share with us your experience.
